New Delhi, Jan 15: As Delhi assembly elections are few days away, the BJP and AAP are taking on over each other with full force, so as to form the the next government in the national capital.

A day after there were reports that former AAP leader Shazia Ilmi is all set to join BJP, the latest reports on Thursday, Jan 15 claimed that the former (Rtd) IPS officer and former Team Anna member Kiran Bedi is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Reports also said that yesteryear Bollywood actress and former RLD leader Jaya Prada is also expected to join the party. [Jaya Prada likely to join BJP]

The final decision will be announced when the BJP President Amit Shah will address a press conference at 4 pm today.

There have been reports that the BJP may field Kiran Bedi as its CM candidate against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.

Meanwhile AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal told media persons, "It's a free country. Anyone can join which ever party as they please."

Bedi, who was part of core team of Anna Hazare during his agitation for a strong Lokpal legislation, has openly been hailing PM Narendra Modi's leadership.

A section of BJP's central leadership is persistently lobbying for Bedi who, they believe, is the only person who can take on Kejriwal.
