Mangaluru, June 28: Defying the oral stricture of Dakshina Kannada unit of the RSS on Naresh Shenoy's issue, the district BJP has appointed man in question, Vedavyas Kamat in RTI activist Baliga murder, who is currently in hiding as the BJP president for Mangaluru South assembly constituency.

According to top sources in the RSS, this appointment was done on the insistence of Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. "We are disappointed with the appointment," a top functionary in the RSS told OneIndia. However RSS had issued an oral stricture to distance from Naresh and alleged associates a few weeks back.

When individual interest takes front seat, foul plays mar the table. It is disturbing that man in question has been elevated to such post. The trend is dangerous and it is likely to damage the party's prospect and credibility. Apparently a section of functionaries have defied RSS, sources added.

Vedavyas Kamat, whose stint as General Secretary of Mangaluru South came to a closure recently, has been missing after Baliga's murder. The BJP president of the Dakshina Kannada, Sanjeev Matandoor said Kamat is presently in foreign tour and not in hiding.

He will take charge after he returns from the tour. When asked Sanjeev, how can a man in question can be placed in that position, he said "the BJP has done a meticulous inquiry on his role in Baliga case. We found no evidence in this regard."

Top RSS sources said a section of the RSS is disappointed with the move. It is the crony networks that come into play in appointing Kamat. The sources further added that no one knows where Kamat is and see how blatantly the appointment is made.
