Reportedly, the daughter of the veteran politician Kariya Munda has been seen selling mangoes on the street of the Jharkhand. But don't take it otherwise as she is not doing it out of any compulsion or financial constrain.
Chandravati Saru, daughter of former deputy Lok Sabha speaker and eight-time MP Kariya Munda is doing this to help others. She can be seen selling the fruit without an iota of guilt for her act, on the streets of Khunti, a town located 40 kms south of Jharkhand capital Ranchi.
Saru who is a professor by profession says that she is not at all ashamed of what she is doing. Following on the footsteps of her father, she always wants to help the needy.
On asking about her unusual act, she was quoted by India Today saying, "I will donate the money from selling mangoes to people who need it more that me. My father always tells me not to get detached from my roots. Keeping myself grounded is what I have inherited from my father".
On further prodding Saru says that she has wish that youngsters must not feel ashamed of what they do and should take up agriculture as the profession.
Kariya Munda, who still lives in a mud hut, is known for his simplistic and minimal lifestyle in the political circle. When not busy in the Parliament session, Munda loves ploughing the field and clearing weeds and shrubs in his compound.
