Black Scorpion is a nickname for Shyam Kishor a top rung gang member of the notorious D Gang. His arrest today by the Goa police after a 12 year chase is considered to be a major breakthrough.
A convict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, Kishor had been granted parole in 2003. However he jumped parole and has been missing since.
He was arrested by the Goa police at the Saligao village 10 kilometres away from Panaji late last night. He is likely to be handed over to the Mumbai police.
His arrest is crucial since he is suspected to have been in touch with Dawood Ibrahim and his men over the past ten years.
Both the police and Intelligence Bureau would seek more information from him to weaken the D gang in India.
