Akhilesh Yadav
Lucknow, Oct 6: At a time when people in the Uttar Pradesh is facing severe power crisis, Law and order problem, the Akhilesh Government is planning to splurge crores of money on mega national convention. Though it is nothing new for SP Government which is popular for doing such things at the cost of exchequer money.

Try to recall earlier incident when Mulayam led party had faced flak for spending crores of money on `Saifai Mahotsav` featuring several Bollywood stars. And that also when thousands of Muzaffarnagar riot victims were living in difficult circumstances in relief camps. Leaving them in lurch, Maulana Mulayam led SP Government was busy in big time celebration.

It is being said that the national convention of Samajwadi Party would be held at Janeshwar Mishra park in Lucknow from October 8 -11. Buoyed by recent victory in by-polls, the party is not leaving a single stone unturned to make it a gala affair.

The party posters and banners is being used in big manner. According to a NDTV report around 1,000 delegates of the party are expected to be present in three day event. Though no official announcement has been made about expenditue on the event, it is being estimated that more than 20 crores will be frittered away.

Swiping at SP Government, the BJP spokesperson Manoj Mishra has alleged that Government is misusing state machinery. Raising question over this celebration, he said, "When the state is going through a power crisis and (facing a) law and order situation, why host such a lavish ceremony".

Meanwhile SP Government has rejected all this allegation and said that all delegates have contributed. He also said that party not Government is organising the event.

"I am here as a party worker, not as a minister. The party is paying for this, not the state," said Samajwadi Party leader Bhagwati Singh as quoted by NDTV.

Akhilesh's inefficient Governance

According to Outlook data, during Akhilesh rule, a total of 23,569 incidents of crimes against women took place. Among them 8,440 cases are against State cops. A total of 1,951 rape cases are reported with around 10 rapes happening every day. Total 5,676 riots incident took place and that seriously raises questions about his administrative skills.
