"Singh is a reputed leader known for his honesty and integrity all over the world. He's being falsely implicated and we are very much confident that he will be vindicated and will come out clean," John said.

Singh told the delegation that "truth shall prevail" adding that he had served the country to the "best of ability" during his stint as the Prime Minister.

The NSUI chief added that "generations to come" will remember Singh for his exemplary work for the country's development as Finance Minister and later as Prime Minister.

"We are with him and for the past few days we've been spreading the message that student community is also aware that he's victim of a political game. They will judge him for whatever work he has done his honesty and integrity," NSUI national spokesperson Amrish Ranjan Pandey said.

A special court had summoned Singh along with industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla, ex-coal secretary P C Parakh and three others as accused in a case pertaining to allocation of Talabira-II coal block in Odisha in 2005 and asked them to appear before it on April 8.
