The Madurai Bench of the Madras high court on Friday dismissed the petition of an elderly couple claiming to be actor Dhanush's parents. The order comes as a relief to the actor who had refused to take a DNA test. A Madurai-based couple had claimed to be Dhanush's biological parents and petitioned the high court seeking maintenance from the actor.
Kathiresan, 65, and his wife Meenakshi had, in their petition, claimed that Dhanush as their son and was brought up in Madurai till 2002. They had sought Rs 65,000 in maintenance from the actor on a monthly basis. After a series of tests including identification mark verification tests. Following court orders, a medical test was conducted on the actor after the couple claimed that Dhanush had a mole on left clavicle bone part and a scar on the left elbow.
The reports by Madurai Medical College said that there was no such mole. "There is no mole over the left collar bone and there is no scar in left elbow. It is possible to remove a small superficial mole completely but a scar cannot be removed by plastic surgery and only scar reduction can be done," the report had said.
Following months of hearing, the case was finally dismissed by the Madurai bench.
