New Delhi, Feb 20: Inputs meant for the upcoming Union Budget too could have been leaked, latest investigations by the Crime Branch of the Delhi police reveals.
The crime branch has seized three diaries from the accused persons which have several 100 numbers and email ids which could provide further details of those involved in the corporate espionage case.
Corporates are believed to have sought information regarding some points to be made in the budget so that it would help them tweak their policies and strategy accordingly. Two of the accused said that they had given out information regarding points to be made in the budget to the intermediaries who in turn could have passed it on to the corporates.
Is telecom ministry next:
The Delhi police say that the ambit of the probe will increase. It as not restricted to one or two ministries. Several other corporate firms too are under the scanner. These firms have sought information from such intermediaries for long.
When asked if information from the telecom ministry too had been leaked, the officer say that the probe is on.
The diaries are an important part of the probe for the Delhi police. They are verifying each name and number in the diaries independently and would get in touch with each of them to get more details on the case.
An operation of this magnitude could not have been carried out by just six persons. We feel that there are several more persons and as the probe progresses many more names would come out, the officer also informed.
