Haridwar, Dec 21: Religious conversions should be stopped as it is creating many problems in the country, General Secretary of RSS Bhaiyyaji Joshi said here on Monday.

Conversions should stop: Bhaiyyaji Joshi
"We want people to follow their own religion with dedication. Religious conversion is not good," Joshi said, however, adding, "ghar vapasi" if one does it out of free will, should be "welcomed."

On the Indo-Pak relations he said,"In the present circumstances we should to talk to Pakistan on our own terms only."

The RSS leader was here for the yearly programme of Devya Prem Seva Mission in the nearby village Bhogpur Tallah.

Joshi said that Pakistan should think that when it too is facing terrorism, it should cooperate with its full strength in combating global terrorism. Union Minister Santosh Gangwar, yoga guru Ramdev, and others were also present on the occasion.

Earlier in the day, Shiv Sena said that there's nothing wrong with reverse conversions and flayed "those who kept mum when Hindus were converted to Muslims."

"Till yesterday, Hindus were converted to Muslims. Then, nobody said those were done forcibly or through enticement. But now when the Ganga has started flowing in reverse, the pseudo secularists are saying the conversions are not right," an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' said.

"What do all these "secular" people have to say about forcible conversion of Hindus to Muslims during mogul rule and to Christians under British and Portuguese regimes," Sena said.
