Congress keen to make Rahul's Sunday rally a success
His last outing in the south Delhi colony on Nov 17, weeks before the Delhi assembly elections, was disastrous as many in the crowd left the rally midway, tired of waiting for him.
"Last year, the rally was a flop show but this time we will make sure that is not repeated. We are making all efforts to ensure this rally is successful," said a party member involved in the preparations. The local leaders as well as the MLAs are working closely and will make sure that maximum attendance is guaranteed."
Rahul's last Delhi in south colony was on Nov 17 last year
According to the source, mobile toilets have been installed near the ground. Hundreds of party flags have also been put up all around the locality.
The Congress got a major drubbing in Ambedkar Nagar in the Delhi assembly elections last year as its four-time legislator from the constituency - Chaudhary Prem Singh, 85 - was defeated by Aam Aadmi Party's Ashok Kumar by 16,000 votes.
Before the poll result came out, the resettlement colony was considered a vote bank of the Congress.
