Bengaluru, April 2: The Congress has not specified on which flight its Vice President Rahul Gandhi would be returning.
This was the statement by BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain who was addressing the media at Bengaluru on the sidelines of the National Executive Meeting of the Party, the first since the BJP came to power at the Centre.
The Congress should worry about itself and not interfere in other party's affairs.
They have a lot to answer themselves, Hussain also told a media briefing at the Hotel Capitol on Thursday.
Treat Giriraj Singh matter closed
Hussain, when asked about the controversy surrounding the remarks made by Giriraj Singh said that the matter should stand closed now.
He has expressed regret and the senior leaders of the party have spoken to him.
Treat this matter as closed now and there is no point in dragging it on, he also said.
Further Hussain also questioned the Congress and said that they should take care of their own problems.
We have been hearing that Rahul Gandhi is coming back and we do not know when.
Will the Congress tell us when he is coming back? Also will they tell us on which flight he is coming back, Hussain also questioned.
Membership drive date extended
Speaking about the agenda of the meeting he said that this morning it was decided that the membership drive of the BJP has been extended by a month.
He said that in 151 days the BJP has reached 10 crore members and this would increase.
During the meeting, Amit Shah, the national president thanked all the workers and urged to increase the numbers. He also extended the drive by another month, Hussain also informed.
Modi will join at 4 PM
Hussain informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the meeting at 4 pm on Thursday.
He will take part in all the sessions after that.
Tomorrow the meeting would discuss two major issues- one would be the political future of India and second the foreign policy of Narendra Modi.
While the first session would discuss on how politics should take the nation forward the second would be on the foreign policy of the government.
It would be discussed how under Modi's leadership India's foreign policy has improved. Also on what the foreign policy in the future should be will also be discussed.
Further deliberations on how the clout of India has improved internationally after Modi became PM will also be discussed, Hussain informed.
Hussain said that the BJP was confident of victory in the Bihar elections. The ground work has been laid and the party is confident of a majority.
Hussain also said that the BJP along with its allies are confident of forming the government in Bihar. There would be discussions on this as well, he said.
On the Ashok Khemka transfer issue, he said a big deal should not be made out of it.
"Transfers are routine for an officer. He is a good officer and his services are needed in departments. The department which he has been transferred to needs an officer like him. Hence it should be viewed negatively," the BJP leader also said.
Lastly on the Ram Mandir issue, Hussain said that he will not comment.
He said that the matter is in court and a decision was awaited.
