Chennai, Dec 7: It is very ironic that Cho Ramaswamy passed away just two days after the death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalithaa.

During a 2015 visit to the hospital, Jayalalithaa had told an ailing Cho Ramaswamy that he should come back soon as she always needed him as a friend, philosopher and guide.

A year later he kept his word and ironically he was back at the Apollo Hospital where Amma was admitted for over 70 days.

Media reports on Cho says that he was probably the only man that Jayalalithaa admired and sought counsel whenever she found herself in a difficult situation.

In Cho, Amma found a guide and philosopher.

There was a time when the police had warned Jayalalithaa that there was a plan to harm her.

At that time she wanted to leave Tamil Nadu.

It was Cho who told her it could have been a plan by her political rivals to scare her.

He told her that she should stay in Chennai and fight it out.

Jayalalithaa however left Chennai and returned only after the Karunanidhi government was dismissed on the charge of helping the LTTE.

When she returned it was Cho who received her at the airport.
