Cold wave in North India: Schools closed till January 10 in UP

Cold wave continues in north India
New Delhi, Dec 25: It is a very cold Christmas for North India. Fog and cold wave hit normal life in Uttar Pradeshon Wednesday.In Lucknow, district administration has ordered closure of all schools up to Class VIII till January 10.

Dense fog and cold wave has forced people to spend Christmas indoors. many flights have been delayed in Delhi International airport and train services and road traffic were also hit. Punjab and Haryana are also among fog-affected regions.

In Rajasthan, which is under the grip of coold wave, Mount Abu recorded the coldest temperature in the state at 2.4 degrees. Himachal Pradesh has been experiencing extreme cold weather for past one week. Snowfall continued in the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, while rain lashed the lower areas, including Srinagar.
