Chennai: Young musician arrested over Marijuana controversy
Chennai, Oct 9: A young musician has been arrested from his residence in Chennai. The musician has been accused of growing marijuana plant inside his rented house.
The accused has been identifies as Abhishek. The 25-year-old music composer grew at least 5-6 marijuana (ganja) plants in a flower pot at his residence.
Police seized all the plants which have grown to a height of about 3 ft. Police raided Abhishek's residence after receiving confirmed information.
Investigating officers arrested three persons from the residence. After a brief interrogation, cops finally came to know about Abhishek's farming exercise.
Speaking about the incident, a police officer has been quoted as saying, "He had the habit of throwing the seeds into a flower pot kept outside their toilet. Those seeds sprouted and began growing."
Abhishek and his friends allegedly used to consume ganja which is banned in the city. Police have been conducting raids at several places to expose a ganja racket in the city.
