#ChennaiFloods: Uber is happy to help
Chennai, Dec 3: Uber turns samaritan in Chennai crisis, making an effort to bring people to safe land. In a mail circulated by it across the city, it said:
"Getting around the city is tough and the rains are expected to get worse over the next few days. Uber is working extremely hard with their driver partners to ensure a reliable ride to get around Chennai."
Uber will not only help transport supplies to relief camps, but has also disabled dynamic pricing and has declared 2nd and 3rd of December a free ride day. It however regrets that it would not be able to serve many people at a go as the cars are few and the demand is high. In such a case, it requests riders to have patience and keep on trying.
It also requests people to share their ride with a neighbour who wishes to travel on the same route, to ensure that the cars on the roads are utilised effectively.
