Chandigarh on high alert of Swine Flu; 8 killed in Andhra, Telangana

Hyderabad/Chandigarh, Dec 22: Chandigarh city has been placed on high alert against the deadly Swine Flu after birds in Sukhna Lake have been tested as Avian Flu and reports of over 300 crows dying under mysterious circumstances.

Doctors are alarmed with the dropping temperature as Swine Flu survives longer in this climatic conditions. Asking the citizens to keep cool, the doctors said that precautions are necessary balanced diet, plenty of sleep and lots of fluids and fruits. Basic hygiene like frequent washing is also essential.

Chandigarh on high alert of Swine Flu

Dozens of domestic geese who were killed in Sukhna lake were tested positive for the dreaded virus. Following this, the lake has been closed to the public. However, no individual has been tested positive for the Avian Flu, but authorities sre not taking any chances and they have culled over 100 geese to check the virus spread and has taken measures to prevent the species from entering the lake.
