CBSE introduces uniform assessment from Class VI to IX
The CBSE affiliated schools currently follow various systems of assessment and examination from classes VI to IX, and issue different types of report cards to their students.
The Central Board of Secondary Education on Tuesday released a circular, instructing schools to implement a uniform system of assessment, examination pattern and issuance of report cards for classes six to ninth also on the same pattern.
The CBSE affiliated schools currently follow various systems of assessment and examination from Class VI to IX, and issue different types of report cards to their students. And the objective behind this circular is to prepare students for the board examinations in Class 10.
It further explains that the change will ease the migration of students from one school to another and also to bring a standard assessment across all the CBSE affiliated schools. CBSE also wants the uniform format to be implemented from the 2017-18 session.
Students will be further assessed for their discipline, behaviour, values and tidiness term-wise on a three-point grading system. And the schools will provide the report cards as mentioned in the circular.
