The Central Bureau of Investigation, on the other hand, has a country-wide jurisdiction to probe cases. With many more people likely to be questioned and detained as well, the CBI would be in a better position to probe the case as it can avoid jurisdictional hassles.
The Delhi police had said that the probe would span out to Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Bengaluru. After the Delhi police gather more evidence, it is likely to recommend that the probe be handed over to the CBI.
