Catch 'Moksha flight' or 'Swarga flight' at this airport themed crematorium in Gujarat
As you enter the place, you will see two mammoth replicas of aeroplanes called Moksha Airlines and Swarga Airlines.
Ahmedabad: A crematorium in Gujarat's Bardoli is designed on the theme of an airport and named 'Antim Udan Moksha Airport'.
As you enter the place, you will see two mammoth replicas of aeroplanes called Moksha airlines and Swarga airlines. The crematorium has five furnaces out of which three are electric and two are traditional funeral pyres.
What's more interesting is that when mourners enter the funeral home, an announcement similar to the ones heard at airports guides them to the gate where they need to enter and when the body is placed inside the furnace will make aeroplane-like noises.
In an exclusive chat with IAmGujarat.com, the crematorium's president Somabhai Patel said, "The crematorium situated on the banks of Mindhola river has been converted into Moksha airport. People of Bardoli will recognise this place not as crematorium but Moksha airport. The word crematorium is harsh. That is why, we have named this airport Antim Udan Moksha Airport- Bardoli."
A team has been working hard for the past one year to convert this crematorium into Moksha airport. The renovation work will be completed soon.
People from more than 40 villages come to perform last rites and the crematorium authorities help them with all the necessary arrangements.
