Ex-RSS man booked for announcing bounty on Kerala CM's head
A day after the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh removed its Ujjain member Kundan Chandrawat, the police registered a case under section 505 against him. The RSS activist was booked for announcing a bounty of Rs 1 crore on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi VIjayan's head. The case comes a day after Chandrawat expressed regret and withdrew his statement.
A case was lodged against the 42-year-old former sah prachar pramukh of the RSS in Ujjain, after the police managed to secure a video where he made the objectionable statement. The RSS had distanced itself from Chandrawat's statements and dismissed it as against the principals of the organisation, it also went on to remove him from the sangh.
In his attempt to condemn that killings of RSS pracharaks and activists in Kerala, Chandrawat had said that he would transfer his property worth more than Rs 1 crore to anyone who cut off Vijayan's head. Apart from being removed from the RSS and tendering an apology, the activist now faces a case for his statements.
