Campa Cola: SC intervenes demolition, stay order till May 31

Campa Cola: SC stays demolition till May
Mumbai, Nov 13: 48 hours on, the residents have been spending sleepless nights standing at the gates of their Campa Cola compound, protesting the demolition. The pleas, the cries and the prayers have been answered. The Supreme Court has intervened the demolition at the 11th hour, staying the order till May 31.

The compound crackled with applauds and tears of happiness meant no bounds when the residents realised that their shelters still have a few months time. But the battle is not over, say many as 6 months is not enough.

"We have to take this to the supreme authorities now and ask them what is meaning of such manhandling at a scene of crisis and why the builders have not been involved till now," said one of the residents.

The RSS and the BJP units in Maharashtra take a pledge to stand by the residents till the end. Minister of State with the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications and the Minister of State with the Ministry of Shipping within the Government of India visited the residential site today morning promising to take the issue to a higher level.
