Burdwan blast case: NIA arrests key conspirator Zia-ul-Haq from Malda in West Bengal

Kolkata, Nov 7: In a major breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday arrested key conspirator of Burdwan blast Zia-ul-Haq from Malda in West Bengal.

The arrested terrorist is associated to Sadiq who is alleged mastermind behind the blast.

A resident of Kaliachak in the district, Haq is said to be key ‘jihadi motivator' who would motivate trainees in jihadi ideology.
According to reports, Haq was closely associated with top JMB commanders, including the absconding Sajid, who is said to be the "chief of the Burdwan module" and Sakib alias Suman. "

Report said the NIA team also carried out raid at his house in Malda and seized a laptop which was given to him by Rizaul Karim after the Burdwan blast.

Two Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh terrorists were killed in a blast at a TMC supporter's home in Burdwan earlier last month. The case further revealed an extensive terror network in the area which raised questions against the TMC government.
