BSP MP's wife held for domestic help murder faces further allegations

assault in New Delhi has come forward in the wake of such increasing cases. However, this time it is an

's wife who has been convicted of the henious crime. BSP MP Dhananjay Singh's wife Jagriti Singh has been accused of assaulting another domestic help, a third such case, where she is alleged to have beaten and burnt her so much that she could not even walk.

Currently, both the leader and his wife are said to have been remanded in police custody for another case where a domestic help was assaulted and killed. The post mortem of the domestic help is to be conducted today. Police has alleged that the help, also a minor, was found dead in their flat with injury marks all over her body.

Mother of a 3-year old, Jagriti regularly tortured the domestic help. However, things took a disastrous turn when the help woke up late on Saturday morning. Following severe thrashing, the girl was left to succumb to her injuries till Tuesday. It is alleged that the couple did not even bother to take her to the hospital.

While Jagriti has been arrested for murder and assault, Dhananjay Singh has been arrested for destruction of evidence.

According to sources, Dr Jagriti has been torturing the domestic help for the past 10 months and an FIR under IPC Sections 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder) has been registered against her.

Meena's story

While that was Rakhi's story (who was murdered), Meena (the current victim of domestic violence) relates a horrific experience that she has had in Jagriti's household.

"I was treated like an animal, was made to sit on my hinges and asked to eat food without using hands. Moreover, she would spit in my food and watch me eat that," said Meena.

Meena was found in a severely injured state by Jagriti's husband and was taken to her relative's place to hide her. While investigating for the murder case of Rakhi, the police found her and took her to the hospital on Wednesday.

Sources say that Rakhi had been hit by the 29-year old doctor with hot rods, iron rods, sticks, metal replica of antlers, and had been kicked repeatedly during the Diwali weekend.

Meena and other employers have testified against Jagriti, who is a dentist and a mother of a 3-year old son. She is reported to have separated from her politician husband.
