Mumbai, April 8: It seems that Lok Sabha election mania has gripped Bollywood. Many stars from the cine world have been appealing to the public to step out and vote. Be it on social media or at social events, several celebrities have been talking about social evils and political apathy. And now two of the most popular young stars -- Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt joined the bandwagon.

During an interview with Oneindia in Mumbai, the two stars of the upcoming movie 2 States, which is based on Chetan Bhagat's novel, urged people of the country to caste their votes this election.

Alia, who is a Briton by birth, cannot caste vote in India. However, the young star said, "I can't vote but every media platform I have taken, I have encouraged people to vote."

I hope everybody in our country goes out and vote: Arjun Kapoor

"...there are 12 crore new young voters in our country. Even if half of them will vote it will be a big change. If the young people vote and make a change, we will find a good country," added Alia.

Supporting Alia, Arjun too said, "I hope everybody in our country goes out and vote. You have to be a part of a change to expect a change to happen."

"...It's very important. We all want India to do progress, we always crib and complain but we can crib and complain only when we vote," added Arjun.

However, a media report recently stated that Arjun will not be a part of election this time as the actor will not be in Mumbai to caste his vote on April 17. He will be busy in promoting his upcoming film 2 States when Mumbai goes to poll on April 17.
