Kolkata barred to see it but Amitabh Bachchan shares pic of world's tallest Durga idol
Kolkata, Oct 19: A stampede spoilt everyone's plans of visiting the pooja pandal in Kolkata which hosted the world's tallest Durga idol.
Many were heartbroken as Kolkata Police barred everyone from entering into Deshopriyo Park in south Kolkata since the stampede took place on Sunday, Oct 18.

Now, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan shared the picture of the 88-foot tall Durga idol. While sharing the image on micro-blogging site Twitter, the actor wrote, "Happy Pujo Greetings to all... peace prosperity !!. 'Puja' greetings .. and more in the days to come."

Artist Mintu Pal along with 40 other artists had been working on the idol and the pandal at Deshapriya Park for over two months.
The idol, which has been a major draw this Durga Puja, was equal to an eight-storey building, according to the puja committee organisers.
