Hours before the results are to be announced, a festive fervor gripped the BJP head office at Nariman Point. While the roads leading up to the office and Mantralaya were lined with the saffron flags, the “diwali” lanterns and “rangoli” outside the office reflected the party’s symbol, a lotus.  The sounds of “dhol”, “tutari” (a traditional Maharashtrian wind-instrument) marked the beginning of the celebrations. An LED screen outside also gave constant updates to the jubilant party workers and supporters seen celebrating on the roads. A large hoarding with the pictures of the senior party leaders greeted the supporters to the office. Standing out among a wave of saffron were a few blue-coloured Republican Party of India (RPI) flags, the party which has aligned with the BJP for the assembly elections, 2014.
Mumbai, Oct 19: As the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to record a thumping victory in the assembly elections in two states - Haryana and Maharashtra, the workers in Mumbai has started celebrations.

According to an Indian Express report, all the roads leading up to the party office and Mantralaya were lined with the saffron flags, the "diwali" lanterns and "rangoli".

The party workers played "dhol", "tutari" (a traditional Maharashtrian wind-instrument), marking the beginning of the celebrations.

A huge crowd have gathered in front of the giant LED screen fixed outside the party office, which gives constant updates of the election results.

The party has already won 82 out of 123 seats in Maharashtra and 45 out of 49 seats in Haryana.
