Waiting for Tejpal, media persons from Goa and across the nation were stationed at the airport since 2 pm, reports Herald, a local news paper published in Goa.
Police teams from Vasco, Mormugao and Dabolim were posted at the airport to avoid any law and order problem, reported Herald.
A poster with the sarcastic message "Tejpal, welcome to Session's Court at Panjim" was also seen at the airport, report said.
By 4:30pm, a large number of workers from the BJP Yuva Morcha gathered at the airport and staged a protest.
Soone, Mormugao DySP Laurence D'Souza asked the police teams to ensure tight security around the airport.
As Tejpal finally arrived at the Dabolim airport at 5.10 pm,the BJP Yuva Morcha protestors tried to block his way, raising slogans.
Police escorted Tejpal, his family members, a team of lawyers and his personal bodyguards to the VIP lounge at the airport and made them wait there for almost half an hour.
Finally, Tejpal and the team came out of the airport through the Domestic Terminal, escorted by South Goa SP Shekar Prabhudesai, DySP Sammy Tavares and airport CISF officials.
Such was the frenzy that police had to push aside some media people to make way for the police to escort Tejpal and his team.
Police brought Tejpal out of the airport and he was whisked off in a private car. A PCR van escorted the private car from the front, while a CISF jeep was behind the police team and the motorcade sped away from the airport and proceeded towards Panjim.
