BJP indulging into politics on religious lines, says Akhilesh

Kannauj, Dec 29: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday accused BJP of misleading people by indulging into politics on religious lines.

BJP raises the issue of love jihad and conversion, but people of the state would not get mislead by that, Akhilesh told reporters on the margins of an event here.

'BJP diving people on religious lines'
He said the government was committed for the prosperity of the people and top priority was being given on the development of the state. Further he claimed that the promises made in the election manifesto have been fulfilled.

Akhilesh's statement comes after posters of Samajwadi Party supremo and local MP Mulayam Singh Yadav, describing him as "missing", were put up by suspected BJP activists in Azamgarh.

Following the police arrested four saffron party workers.

Local police said that four BJP workers were arrested while putting up Mulayam Singh Yadav's posters describing him as "missing" this morning.

The BJP workers said that after being elected as the local MP in May this year, Yadav has not visited Azamgarh.
