BJP claims demonetisation victory after results in Maha, Gujarat local polls
Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday described BJP's performance in the local polls in Maharashtra and Gujarat as people's support to Centre's fight against black money.
New Delhi, Nov 29: Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday described BJP's performance in the local polls in Maharashtra and Gujarat as people's support to Centre's fight against black money.
"Results of local body polls in Gujarat and Maharashtra show that people of the country support Government's fight against black money," Javadekar told reporters.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray congratulated the BJP on its performance in Maharashtra civic body polls.

Union Minister of Textiles Smriti Irani took to Twitter to express her happiness over BJP's performance in Gujarat local polls.

In Gujarat district panchayat, taluka panchayat and Nagarpalika bypolls the BJP wons 23 seats and Congress could manage just 8 seats. In Vapi Nagarpalika polls, BJP wons 41 seats out of 44, while Congress won three seats.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged as the single largest party winning 851 seats in the Maharashtra municipal council polls conducted in 164 civic bodies which includes 147 municipal councils and 17 nagar panchayats.
Shiv Sena stood fourth in the tally winning 514 seats, behind Congress which won 643 seats and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) winning 638 seats.
