Sources in the government told TOI, Team Modi has got in touch with beaurocracy in the constituency to discuss plans for the holy city.
Modi's election promises included cleaning up Ganga and the rest of the city, freeing the city from traffic congestion and several others.
According to sources in the government, Modi had already issued directions to his team to act in this regard.
BJP has started an online campaign asking public to set agenda for Modi govt
Modi's BJP team in Varanasi has proposed nearly 60 flyovers inside the city and connecting the two banks of the Ganges. In addition, the communication cell of the party has also started off an online campaign asking people to set the agenda for the Modi government for implementation in the next 100 days and one year.
From the Chamber of Commerce to professors at the Benaras Hindu University, everyone has been asked to chip in with advice on ways to improve the city and create a framework for the development model it needs, says TOI report.
Reportedly, the BJP will try to replicate Gujarat model in Varanasi. "That Kashi is set to see considerable change is certain. The model of development that Gujarat saw implemented - transparently and efficiently - is what has been envisaged for Varanasi and other Eastern pockets as well," a party functionary told TOI.
