BJP asks Rahul: Explain your merits to be Congress VP
New Delhi, July 31: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Friday sought to know from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi the merits on which his party promoted him to the post of vice president.
The question was raised in response to Rahul Gandhi attacking the BJP-led union government and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) over the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) chairman.
Actor-turned-politician and BJP MP Paresh Rawal also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi. Addressing reporters outside parliament house, he said: "I have not heard Rahul Gandhi asking any questions in the Lok Sabha. He has got a topic now... We should allow him to revel in it... We will answer him later."
Rahul Gandhi intearcts with FTII students, supports their protest
"I just want to ask the students at FTII if they are seeing a political worker in Gajendra Chauhan, then are they also seeing an actor in Rahul Gandhi," he asked.
Supporting the striking FTII students, who are opposing the appointment of Chauhan as FTII chairman, Rahul Gandhi on Friday visited FTII, Pune, and urged the central government "not to impose its will" on students.
