A RJD delegation would also meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to seek seeking action against the MLA. Singh known for strong armed tactics pleaded innocence and alleged that Rana was nurturing "enmity" against him.

The MLA also told reporters that he had helped in the release of three of the four youths kidnapped from his native village Nadma on June 17 and he was prepared for any kind of inquiry by the new SSP of Patna.

Relatives of the three, who had managed to escape from kidnappers on June 17, who were present at MLA's house corroborated MLA's assertions.

With the incident snowballing into a political issue, JD(U) maintained that law would take its own course. State JD(U) spokesman Neeraj Kumar said Rana's transfer has nothing to do with the case and asserted law would take its own course.
