New Delhi, Nov 8: After BJP leaders conceded defeat in the Bihar Assembly Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called up JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar and congratulated him for victory in the high stakes Bihar Assembly polls.
"Had a telephone conversation with Shri @nitishkumar & congratulated him on the victory," Modi tweeted as the mahaghatbhandhan of JD(U), RJD and Congress surged towards a convincing victory in the crucial elections.
Kumar, the two-time Chief Minister of Bihar, is set to take charge of the state for the third time after today's win, immediately tweeted, "Just received a phone call from the Prime Minister congratulating me...thank you Modiji."

Meanwhile, BJP leader Ram Madhav dismissed suggestions that the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on the wane in view of Bihar poll verdict but said the party will take corrective measures.
"We try to learn from every election. Give us some time. We will take corrective measures," he said as it became clear that the NDA was facing defeat in the high-stakes polls.
