As per reports those five women were rag pickers, including some minors belonging to a Dalit community.
As per thehindu report, "The district police said that the incident took place at Kurmuri village under Sikarhatta Police Station limits, in Tarari block of Bhojpur district. Later, police arrested one person in connection with the case."
"Yes this incident has come to our notice and the district police chief and other officials had gone to the village where the incident had reportedly taken place. One person has been arrested and police is hunting for others," Bihar Additional Director-General of Police (HQ), Gupteshwar Pandey was quoted as saying to TheHindu.
As per the report in the daily, the incident took palce when the women were out to sell scrap in a neighbouring village. The police report said, they were asked to stay for some reason by the scrap dealer and at night they were overpowered by three men at gun point and raped.
As per the victims, they were threatened by the perpetrators not to report the incident to anyone.
One of the girls who managed to escape from there and alerted her villagers, who then helped the other girls to get free from captivity
On Thursday, a complaint was lodged with the Sikarhatta Police Station against three persons, including the scrap dealer.
As per the hindu report, "The police said a case has been lodged against three persons Nilnidhi Singh, his brother Jai Prakash Singh and an employee of theirs, Jaggu."
Nilnidhi Singh is said to be former area commander of disbanded upper caste private army Ranvir Sena.
Later, the police arrested Jai Prakash Singh while two others are still absconding.
