(Updates) Bihar Assembly Elections 2015 Results: Lalu-Nitish maul BJP, opposition targets PM Modi

New Delhi, Nov 8: The 'Grand Alliance' of JD(U), RJD and Congress on Sunday, Nov 8, won majority to form the government in Bihar, bagging 178 seats out of the 243 assembly seats, leaving behind NDA, which bagged just 58 seats.

Grand Alliance partner JD(U) won 71 seats, while its ally RJD won on 80 and Congress won 27 seats. The NDA bagged only 58 seats with BJP securing 53, RLSP of Union minister Upendra Kushwaha- 2, LJP- 2 and HAM(S) of Jitan Ram Manjhi got 1.

In a verdict that is bound to have a national impact, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Lalu Prasad on Sunday trounced the BJP to win the bitterly fought Bihar assembly polls and deliver a major blow to Prime Minister Narendra Modi who led his party's challenge.
