Bhubaneswar hospital tragedy: Twitter mourns loss of lives; wants action from government
22 patients died and over 20 were injured after a fire broke out in a hospital in Bhubaneshwar.
Bhubaneshwar, Oct 18: India woke up to the terrible tragedy at the Sum Hospital in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on Tuesday morning.
A major fire broke out at the hospital on Monday evening, killing at least 22 patients and injuring over 20 others, in one of the worst such incidents involving a medical facility in Odisha.
The incident once again brought to light how tragic episodes like fire, drought, floods, stampede and earthquakes, to name a few, kill hundreds every year in the country.
Right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to regular social media users took to Twitter to mourn the loss of lives.
Users of the micro-blogging site expressed anguish at the tragic episode and wanted action from the government machineries.
