Bengaluru: Tragedy hits birthday party, brothers fight over bill, 1 killed
Bengaluru, July 13: It was their sister's birthday. The family went to a pub to celebrate the day. But their celebration came to an end when two brothers began fighting over a hefty bill at the pub.
While one brother died, another one landed in jail following the fatal fight. The incident took place in Bengaluru on Friday, July 10.
The family members, who reside at Indiranagar, a posh area in the city, were shocked when the victim was declared brought dead at the hospital.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Allan Gerald. He was an employee of a Call Centre and he was scheduled to leave for California in a few days.
Allan along with his brother, sister and cousins had gone to a pub at Richmond Town to celebrate the birthday. However, while leaving the pub, Allan was confronted by his younger brother Santhosh Antony.
Santhosh was furious as Allan did not pay the bill, instead, one of their cousins had paid the bill at the pub. After having heated argument, Santhosh rained blows on Allan, who fell on to the footpath and received severe head injuries.
As the hospital declared Allan dead, one of their cousins filed a complaint with Bengaluru Police who arrested Santhosh.
