Bengaluru: Techie, a budding singer, mowed down by milk tanker, dies
Bengaluru, Jan 29: She was a budding singer, a talented software engineer. However, her life came to an end suddenly. 24-year-old Madhura Patwardhan was mowed down by a milk tank in Bengaluru on Thursday, Jan 28.
The accident took place near Cubbon Road junction. The deceased was a resident of RT Nagar.
Madhura, daughter of Ashok Patwardhan, SBI bank manager in Bagalkot and Shantha Patwardhan, was an employee of a private firm. The family hail from South Kannada.
According to eyewitnesses, Madhura along with her colleague Shubha was riding her Honda Activa scooter when a milk van hit them from behind.
While Shubha suffered minor injuries on her leg, Madhura came under the wheels of the van. Madhura was dragged a few yards by the van and received serious injuries on her stomach and head.
She was rushed to Bowring Hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead. Now, Madhura's family members announced that they will donate her body to a medical college.
Driver of the milk van has been arrested. According to police sources, the accused had bought the vehicle recently and was transporting milk to booths in Adugodi.
