Starting this week, a petrol pump will start to offer free food all day to customers who stop there to refuel their vehicle. This initiative was launched by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The pilot project will be first launched in Venkateshwara Service Station which is located close to Indiranagar RTO on Old Madras Road.

Petrol pump offers free food

The concept was launched for the Bangaloreans in an effort to keep the customers' health in check. Many customers skip their breakfast in order to get to work on time. And this lifestyle can take a toll on their health and lifestyle.

According to Prakash Rao, who is the proprietor of the five-decade old service station said that no matter how short on time they are, people will definitely stop to refuel at petrol pumps. So they will try to fill the consumer's stomach by the time he/she spends at the service station. He added that the food will be packed in less than five minutes.

The service will be free for a month after which it will be chargeable. The services will be available all through the day 24x7. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian varieties of breakfast, meals or snacks are also offered.

Knowing that the concept will incur huge losses, the team has no worries and want the concept to become popular. They also want to introduce this concept to about 100 other IOC petrol pumps.
