BSY supporters create ruckus at Eshwarappa's 'BJP bachao' meet
Disgruntled leaders of the party called for a meeting to 'Save BJP' in Bengaluru.
A Bharatiya Janata Party man was thrashed by his own party workers in a meeting full of leaders for supporting the party's state president B S Yeddyurappa. The disgruntlement against Yeddyurappa in the Karnataka BJP is very real and Thursday's incident came as proof of the same. Shiva, a BJP worker was thrashed by members of his own party after he objected to MLC Bhanuprakash calling Yeddyurappa 'unfit'.
Has Karnataka BJP thrown away the 2018 assembly elections already?
A meeting of dissenting leaders was held in Bengaluru's palace grounds on Thursday. K S Eshwarappa who has locked horns with Yeddyurappa on multiple occasions was also present at the meeting. The leaders attended the meeting despite a stern warning from the senior leadership against such meetings. While speaking on the stage Bhanuprakash called Yeddyurappa 'unfit' angering a BSY supporter. When Shiva, a Yeddyurappa supporter raised an objection to the same, he was thrashed and thrown out of the venue.
The ugly spat was caught on camera and came as proof of the infighting within the party. Meanwhile, despite being a meeting of disgruntled leaders, the organisers attempted to make it look like a pro-party meeting. While speeches of leaders clearly indicated that they were against B S Yeddyurappa, the state BJP chief's pictures were plastered all over the venue. While expressing their discontent with Yeddyurappa's leadership, the dissident leaders sent a message to the senior leadership that being against B S Yeddyurappa was not equal to being against the party.
