Kolkata, Dec 6: The West Bengal government on Tuesday declared a day of mourning as a mark of respect to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
As a mark of respect to Jayalalithaa, the state assembly was adjourned "with a deep sense of grief and sorrow", Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted.

A state mourning is being observed. "We are all extremely saddened," the Trinamool Congress chief said.
Trinamool MPs Derek O'Brien and Kalyan Banerjee will attend the funeral in Chennai.
Jayalalithaa passed away on Monday night. Hundreds of her supporters gathered at Rajaji Hall on Tuesday to pay their last respects.
