Battery found near Jalandhar-Pathankot railway track
Hoshiarpur, Oct 10: A battery was found near the Jalandhar-Pathankot railway track in Mukerian here today, throwing security agencies into a tizzy.
After the battery was found at about 10:30 AM, train movement on the rail track was suspended for about 20 minutes, police said.
"A battery without any wire has been found near the Jalandhar-Pathankot rail track by Government Railway Police in the morning," Hoshiarpur Police DSP Bhupinder Singh said.
Police said army personnel were inspecting the battery. Security agencies have been on alert amid tension between India and Pakistan following surgical strikes on terror launch pads in PoK by the army.
