Basaveshwara jayanthi: PM Modi launches digital version of 'vachana'
PM Modi hailed the idea of 'Anubhava Mantap' as first parliament of India.
On the occasion of 883rd birth anniversary of 12th-century social reformer Basaveshwara, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched digital version of 'vachana' in 23 Indian languages during the inauguration of International Basava Convention.
PM Modi began his speech by saying 'Om Sri Basava Lingaay namaha' amid loud applause. PM hailed 'Anubhava Mantap' as first parliament of India. Anubhava Mantapa is a platform for people from all walks of life to present their thoughts.

Modi exhilarated Basaveshwara's effort to propagate women empowerment centuries ago. Referring to the issue of triple talaq, Modi said our society witness the rise of matured Muslim who would challenge the age-old traditions.

He also congratulated Arvind Jatti, Basava Samithi convener, for completing the work initiated by his father, former Vice President, BD Jatti.
Union Ministers Sadanada Gowda, Ananth Kumar and former karnataka chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa were present in the function.
What is Vachana Literature ?
Sharanas have expressed their divine thoughts and experiences in unique literature known as Vachana. The word Vachana means 'Speech'.
