Bangalore to Delhi, children not safe in India; now a 4-year-old sexually assaulted

New Delhi, Sept 1: Is the country safe anymore? Parents, who send their kids to schools, are scared. After Bangalore, now Delhi witnessed a similar kind of incident where a 4-year-old child has been sexually assaulted.

It has been suspected that the child was assaulted when she was in her school. However, there were no confirmed report as the victim failed to identify the culprit. The incident took place at Begumpur area, Delhi.

According to police sources, the incident took place last week but it has come into light when her parents took her to a hospital when she complained of pain in lower abdomen. Doctors later discovered that the child was sexually assaulted.

A case of sexual assault has been lodged with Delhi Police. While the child was taken to her school to identify the accused, she initially raised finger at a minor boy who was identified as the 16-year-old son of a PWD labourer. However, police investigation revealed that the boy was not present at the crime spot when the girl was assaulted.

Later, the victim also pointed at one of her cousins. No one has been apprehended because of the lack of clarity, police said. A case under sections of POCSO has been registered against unknown persons.

Earlier a six-year-old girl was gangraped inside a reputed school in Bangalore. People of the tech city took the street protesting against such heinous crime.

The main accused was sacked at a school earlier for "gross misconduct" with girls, the institution had disclosed, with Vibgyor High School coming in for criticism for not checking the background of its staffer.
