"We have arrested a man working as an instructor with the school. Mustafa, alias Munna, aged about 30 to 32 years old is from Bihar and has been in Bangalore for 20 years", said Raghavendra Auradkar, the Bangalore POlice Commissioner. He also said that the devices were full of pornographic material.
"The laptop had videos of schoolchildren being raped downloaded from Internet. This shows his state of mind," the Commissioner added. Although this is the first arrest in the case, one other is still on the lookout. Police had detained three people in the case earlier.
The accused will be produced in court today where the police will seek judicial custody. The arrest follows after days of campaigning and protests by agitated parents against the culprits and the school authorities.
The first grader was raped on July 2 in the school premises, which came to light after a week when a private nursing home hinted that the child could have been raped. Parents since then have taken to the roads, demanding action against school negligence and punishment for the culprits.
