Badaun, Feb 7: Badaun district in eastern Uttar Pradesh is again in news for the reason it is best known for. A 13-year-old girl has become the latest victim of gangrape by two youth, in Khitabnagar village.
According to a report published in TOI, the shameful incident took place on Monday, Feb 1, when two men, both 20-year-old-- Amit Jatav and Krishna Yadav, kidnapped the dalit girl and gangraped her at an isolated spot.
After committing the crime, accused threatened victim's family and their neighbours not to file any police complaint and to remain indoors.
Four days after their girl was gangraped, the girl's family mustered the courage to approach police station and lodged a complaint on Friday, Feb 5.
Musajhag police station officials filed an FIR under section 376 (D) (gangrape) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of SC/ST Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police has assured the family to nab the culprits soon.
