New Delhi, Nov 19: As the wedding season is going on, the Finace Minister Arun Jaitley's daughter is all set to get married in December.

As a doting father, Jaitley is busy with his daughter, Sonali Jaitley's marriage preparations that includes sending invitations to the politicians and other high-profile guests.

On Wednesday, Jaitley met Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi at his 12 Tughlak Lane bungalow residence and personally extended the wedding invitation to him, that will take place in December 2015.

A report said that Bollywood singer Mika or renowned santoor maestro Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma may perform at Sonali's wedding. Like her father, Sonali is a lawyer and her brother Rohan is also a senior advocate by profession.

But both of them stay away from politics. However, Sonali was seen with his father during Lok Sabha elections 2014. [Goa-based activist alleges Jaitley used Navy chopper for personal use]

Sonali, who attended Carmel Convent School, New Delhi, is a founding partner at a law firm named Chambers of Jaitley & Bakhshi, that was founded in 2008.

Jaitley's meeting with Rahul had raised eyebrows that the two leaders met to figure out a consensus to clear the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill.

He has repeatedly said in the last few days that he would reach out to Rahul to seek his help to clear the GST Bill, the government's big reform measure that is stuck in Parliament on stiff opposition from Congress.

However, there was no word from the Congress on what was discussed at the meeting held a week before the winter session of Parliament, that is slated to commence from Nov 26.

Party sources said Jaitley's meeting with Rahul Gandhi was welcome but the government should speak with the leaders of the Congress party in the two houses of Parliament --Mallikarjun Kharge in the Lok Sabha and Ghulam Nabi Azad in the Rajya Sabha--on the issue of GST.
