Arjun Rampal meets gangster Arun Gawli, summoned by police

Mumbai, Feb 3: Actor Arjun Rampal has been summoned by the Mumbai police for allegedly meeting jailed gangster Arun Gawli in January. The actor is said to have met him last month at the JJ Hospital where he had come for a routine check-up.

Rampal plays Gawli in under-production film 'Daddy' and he spent close to an hour with the criminal in the hospital's Out-patient Department on December 29 last year.

Apparently, the actor did not have permission to meet the gangster. The latter is serving a life term in connection with the murder of corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar in 2008.

Meanwhile, an internal inquiry has also been ordered against the team of policemen who had accompanied Gawli to the hospital from Navi Mumbai's Taloja jail.
