During an event in Mumbai, Anushka was questioned about the controversy. The actress was quoted as saying, "Having said that my feelings or my intentions cannot be misconstrued. My intentions were correct and I think they can understand that and even if they don't understand, I know with what intention I was writing."

"I have been trolled many times on Twitter and I have realised I don't want to pay attention to cowards. You are hiding behind your computer screen and saying things with a fake identity. Anybody can do that... Come and say that on my face," added Anushka while lashing out at her critics.

Micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with anti-Anushka Sharma comments when it was noticed that the actress misspelled Dr Kalam's name while offering her condolences.

Initially, she wrote, "Very sad to hear about the passing of ABJ Kalam Azad. Loss of an inspiring visionary and a wonderful soul. May his soul RIP."

She realised her mistake and corrected the spelling soon. However, all damages were done by that time. She was trolled on Twitter.
