New Delhi, Jan 9: Probably the first of its kind in the political circuit, the anti-corruption helpline that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had promised is operational from today. With this, the 45-year old leader has armed common man with a weapon against corruption.

"This announcement makes every Delhi citizen an anti-corruption inspector," Kejriwal said.

He announced the number-(011) 27357169-while addressing a press conference in New Delhi. The citizens can now use this number to report any corrupt practice in any of the government wings. Kejriwal further added,"We are in the process of acquiring a four-digit helpline number which is easier to remember."

Maintaining its plank against anti-corruption, the main purpose of the party is to create fear in the minds of corrupt government officials and leaders.

Till now, the party has been following its party manifesto by the word. The cut in power tariff and free water supply, apart from the anti-corruption helpline, were some of the party's agendas that led to its majority win in the Assembly Elections in December last year. And Kejriwal stood by his promises.

The AAP is currently planning for a Lok Sabha election that will translate public anger into votes.

Meanwhile, the party has announced that the helpline would be functional everyday between 8 am till 10 pm everyday from today.
